What is Cinnamon Slate?

Benjamin Moore has announced its Color of the Year for 2025: Cinnamon Slate 2113-40. From the BM website, "This delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown offers enduring style and a modern sensibility."
Is it right for your home?
I love this color. It's the most earthy and muted that a "purple/lavender" can get. I had a dining room painted in a similar shade for over a decade, and I almost duplicated it in our renovated home. It made the room feel intimate and inviting, especially with tonal artwork. Cinnamon Slate is a hard sell, though. Unless you are instantly attracted to this color, you probably won't love it. I went for it in a room that was not used daily, which made me appreciate it even more. I would totally do it again if I hadn't fallen in love with a Cowtan & Tout wallpaper.
